All,,

Going to make a road trip to PA for some cherry. I'm looking for the small mills that only locals know about - Not at the big mills. Will take green or dry, Looking for the best material and price.

Thanks,

Bryan

How about S.W. Michigan?

I just landed a good bunch of nice timber for the firewood.
Red Oak and Cherry. Also have some hickory.

There are several small mills in the area, and they are hurting.

PM me and big Genious......

Stay safe!

Dingeryote isnt far from me, so if needed you could hit two birds with one stone.

Bill Cramer of Mount Pleasant Mills, PA. He's located in Juniata County. A couple years ago he was getting some good logs northeast of him out of another county. I heard it was nice looking.

My boss gets from Tuscarora Hardwoods from Elliotsburg. They are big for our area. Their lumber may come from other mills. The cherry has been hit or miss as far as appearance, mostly miss.

Northern Pa, meaning north of Route 80 probably has the most cherry. It sounds like a loooonnnnng way to drive for a load of cherry.

I've only milled a couple of smallish trees. One was from my property in Va near the NC border, and the other from the neighbor here in south, central Pa. Both dried very quickly. The local tree was choke cherry, and dried with a distinct orange color to it. The other dried towards the pink side.

Hey, gas is cheep now - Come to Ct, we got cherry too!
