Amoungst My Saws........Fool That Has Too Many!!!
Just wondering, has anyone put some form of additional padding on their D-rings? I am using a Master saddle and really like it except for the fact that on prunes the D-rings tend to dig into my hips from all the positions that it takes to do the prunes. The saddle is sized right according to Sherrill/Buckingham specs. Any help would be appreciated.

Brian, I was thinking the same thing as you were. My abilities are coming together for me. The guys that I worked with pruned some pretty huge trees yesterday. The Guy that I was with in the same tree is the leader/owner. We split the prune 50/50. I kept up with him pretty well with very little input from him. We used mostly handsaws, no pruners or polesaws. Working the tips was exactly that, way out standing and working on 2" branches. This put me in some very interesting positions. I think your right!

Large or small D-rings? The small are better for not digging in but a pita with winter clothes.

Dang! Mine are the big ones! Now I am really curious why it bugs you.

Uhh, I'm on a Weaver.

I bet its the design of your Master... it doesn't suit you.

I have a master II w/ indiv. leg straps. I have a bruise on both of my hips from the rings, and have never really gotten comfortable w/ this saddle. I'm not overweight by any means, I should have kept in mind the old saying when I had my regular 4-D saddle "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...:)

If I do this for more than another year or two, I'll most likely buy an Austrian Duo unless something better comes out in the meantime.

So that gig on the lecturing circuit might finally come true?

The Master II's suck.

I ditched mine on Ebay awhile back and went back to my 3-D weaver with the tongue buckles and leg straps. MUCH better.
