I did a search and never came up with what I was after.I have a 5000+ here(83 model I believe)that belongs to a friend. It was his deceased father in laws machine so he wants it in good working order for nostalgic reasons.I've yet to try it but he says when it gets hot it starts losing power.Any issues with these machines along this line?More importantly, when he had it to a local Stihl dealer to have fixed(still the same) they lost the rear AV(rubbers?)so bolted it solid. He says it vibrates something terrible.I guess what I was looking for mostly was an illustrated parts guide or a pic of the rear AV set up.Thanks,

AF

I have the service manuals for 500,5000,5000+ and will post a pic, if someone doesn't get you a pdf of the ipl ok.
Great saws and worth the money to rebuild. Way before their time. Contact retoocs555 for the av mounts. he is a used saw parts guy that has helped me out with parts on my 5000's and 500.

Forgot about those, Thanks for reposting them for him.
Those were the first ones i used before getting the service manuals. I even have the 5000 and 5000H one on a original paper sheet.
Plus i think I have a lead on NOS rear mounts too.

No top mounts to give up. Just got 1 NOS one left for my saws, sorry. If I come across a good used one, you want a pm?

Thanks for the offer

Thanks but I make replacements.....I have several good used ones.....not enough call for a production run on them for now

You make replacements? Would you like to share this info and maybe a pic or 2?

Well,I cleaned it up and took it apart and had a look. Those in the pic are for the front handle? These aren't the best of shape but the rear lower behnd the trigger is what I was looking for.It would appear from pics that these are just a cylindrical rubber tube.I'm sure I can make something up for that.On the other hand, having read on here about the guy throwing his parts in the dishwasher I decided to give it a try with some of the external pieces(after pressure washing them first)Anyway,it did an excellent job but the wife arrived home just as I was taking them out and said-why does the kitchen smell like two stroke? She then launched in to a discussion on my deficientsies, past transgressions(including the bike parts paint baking in the oven episode)among other things.Fearing heavy objects upside my head I was forced to beat a hasty retreat to the computer room and lock myself in.Oh well, might as well spend a little time looking around while things cool off.It would appear your wives are more understanding than mine:(
