is there a piston and cylinder that would work on a Homelite DM50? I mean a husky, stihl, poulan, jonsered, mcculloch or shamalamadingdong brand piston/cylinder that fits the 450/DM50 saw.

I've been looking for a LONG time, all I came up with is mainly old homelite dealers saying parts are NLA and we cant help you.

If anyone has a DM50 or 450 piston/cylinder I need one of each, a carb from a 550, a wire to connect the coil to the kill switch, a replacment kill switch, and a pulley that attaches to the shaft on the cutting arm of the saw.

Also, if someone could possibly post a pic of the clutch removal tool for this particular type of saw I'd really appreciate it.
Just so you know, I need the parts listed above, but I cant afford them right now but will let you know when I can afford them.

TIA for any help provided.

OSA,

This is what you posted earlier

Homelite DM50 for sale
I'm cleaning out my shop now, since I'm moving into a new home soon, so its time to clean out the shop.
The DM 50 has only 2 thing wrong with it that I know of, one is the piston rings are worn out, the second is that the ignition coild is bad in it.
I'm asking abour $125-200 for this saw, I will ship it ONLY to the 48 states since this beast wieghs about 30 pounds. shipping is not included in the price of purchase.
The saw is fully assembled right now, with a new fuel filter and fuel pickup line in it, and I have also cleaned the saw inside and out as best I can with the tools available to me. Its not a bad deal for a project saw, I know someone has a need for this unit, I dont anymore.

It appears now you have decided it needs a little more than a $5 set of rings. There is a big difference between worn rings and a scored piston/jug. If you are SERIOUS about getting the parts I find it hard to believe thay are that hard to find. There is quite a supply NOS Homelite parts sitting around. There are members here they probably have the parts you need. I have not checked to see if your assumption is correct in the fact that the 450 and DM50 share the same jug.

but I cant afford them right now

I think the above statement is the key, Bill. There are lots of us guys that find some old POS for nothing, and just hope we can get it running like a swiss watch for almost nothing more.

That is true but most do not to sell a POS as one thing when in reality it is something much worse.
