Anybody familiar enough with these two saws to comment on parts sharing?

ie, does the plastic fit from one to another, handle, ignition, flywheel, etc..

Thanks,

Andy

I know the cylinder and piston do not. Sorry if I am just stating the obvious.

The piston is interchangable just not the jug. Someone had to wake me up.

Watch out for the cheap aftermarket 084/088 pistons starting to appear... the Stihl piston has a steel band inserted into the piston above the two rings; the aftermarket do not.

Haven't seen aftermarket yet for these, anyone making a good one, or just the cheap guys?

Anyone know if anything else interchanges? I found a smashed 084 that will need a complete plastic replacement, handlebar, muffler and bar cover, but don't want to shell out the cash if parts are gonna be expensive

The bar cover will fit, but the rest of your list won't.
