People trying to make art out of a tree??

Anyone here take a job where some one had you shaping branches into art??

Any tree I trim I try to turn it into a 'work of art'.

Yes please clarify. I have done some topiary. I do some pseudo-bonsai. I try to make all trees as aestheticaly pleasing as possible consistent with the tree's health.
I do not let some one tell me "cut that branch and shorten this branch and cut that one so it moves up and.....etc."

I am an avid bonsaier. While on a trip to Costa Rica, all my bonsais died I am moving a lot right now (kids these days....can't stay in one place) so I know I won't make another tree for maybe another year.

Fun hobby. Scary though. You become an arborist and start thinking if you can apply training techniques to get branches to go where you want them to!

So what kind of artsy stuff are you talking about?

how about pinch pruning or what the japanese call "cloud" pruning.

I do a lot of bud pruning on conifers and small trees near driveways and roads.
