When it comes to eyewear I have yet to find a pair of sun / safety glasses that can outlast a pair of leather gloves. Most are scrathed in the first day from regular use. If they are not stepped on driven over or whacked by a limb, the plastic parts usually break for no apparant reason. Has anyone found a pair of glasses that are tough, provide 100% UV protection, and still carry a cool factor (sorry no blueblockers).

Stihl makes some nice glasses that are Z87 approved as safety glasses. Its usually what I wear, and they still look good enough to go out in public with them. Other than those, I have yet to find a reasonable pair that are safety glass rated yet still comfortable and stylish. I know they're out there, just hard to find.

I use the Stihl glasses as well. I have bought about 5 pairs over the past year trying to find a pair that won't fog up. Funny, I have lost or broke every pair except the first pair I bought. They're scratched and they fog but any pair of sun glasses that last a year or better has got to be some good ones. It's a pain to have to stop and wipe them every time they fog up in the tree and I am guilty of getting in a hurry and cutting with them on top of my head sometimes but I'm sure glad I had them on yesterday when the steel eye from my flip cord came around and wacked the crap out of my glasses instead of my eyeball.

DeWalt Ventilator glasses are pretty good. Would assume they're available in the US.

The sherril catalog has some very sweet lookin saftey glasses, don't know how they'll be for durability.

We've been buying them locally at a contractor supply, either Nemesis or Scorpion. The nemesis hold up pretty well....the first thing to go on them is the nose pads, unless you crunch them. The scorpion's are length and angle adjustable for a very comfortable fit, and the lenses pop out and go back in easily, you can step on 'em, put 'em back together, and put them back on. You'll break them in half or lose a lens before they fall apart, and breaking them isn't easy.

Nemesis

I buy the nemisis branded safety glasses all the time from a local welding supply shop. The problem is they scratch easily, as do most cheap safety glasses. I simply can't wear glasses once they are scratched, it seems to cause eye strain and its just plain annoying. Safety glasses for the most part are just tinted plastic. I am all about keeping my parts in good working order, so UV protection is important.

I have been wearing bolle bandido smoke (you can get them in clear and amber to) for 5 years now, a pair lasts me about 6 months but they only cost about $10. They have taken every kind of hit, drop etc. Good lenses that work well to keep the chips out. Its only $10, try a pair and see what you think

The thin arms on them mean muffs still seal pretty good to!

I buy the uvex brand from the welding shop. They have inexpensive replacable lens so you can get a clear and polorized and switch them out in a couple seconds. They are also great for riding the scooter day or night.

Lab Safety supply has a good assortment of safety glasses, all sorts of styles.
I use the Safety reading glasses made by Olympic. I buy them by the dozen. There are many others to choose from. If you cant find what you want there, then they probably don't exist.

Stay away from mirrored lens, they scratch too easy.

Get hinged temples, you can rotate the lens down to allow for more airflow and less fogging.

Wrap your glasses in a bandanna once in the truck, a few miles rattling sitting on dirty lens unprotected will scratch even the best lens

Sporty Goggles

I recently picked up these plastic sports frames in the optical dept. at Sam's Club, held on with adjustable elastic bands. Very comfortable and they don't slide down my sweaty face like many I've tried. About 30 bucks. Added prescription and photo-gray for my blind azz and never want to take them off.
