I posted this in the milling section because that's the application I'm using it for and I think you guys would know better than anyone. IS there a picco rim that'll fit an 056 Mag? I bought a 32" Cannon narrow kerf bar and the Stihl picco chain and I know guys use them on 066/660's, so if not, will the drums interchange between the 2? If I have to I can use the 3/8 rim thats on it, it's well worn so it might not tear the chain up too bad, but that's only if I have to. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The picco sprocket should be larger than a standard 3/8 so a new one is less of a mis match than a used one. I can't comment on the drums but have read on here that .404 sprockets can be turned down to the correct size. I wonder why the mini spline picco sprockets have the same amount of room for the drive links as for .063 in a side to side manner.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to buy a new 3/8, a .404 AND a picco with the small spline in it to look at. I work in a machine shop so I thought about putting the larger spline in the picco sprocket, not sure how bad of a job that would be. But turning down the .404 would be easy if that's all it takes. I remember someone saying they actually fit a .404 better than a std 3/8, so I figured for 9 bucks it was worth a look.

Bought all 3. Figured what the hell, it's only 30 bucks and I might come up with a useful solution to pass along to other folks who might be in the same boat.
