Could someone please post some pics of an external clutch? I was wondering if it stays cleaner than the internal type. Advantages/disadvantages? Thanks.

the advantage is the chain and sprocket is closer to the crank bearing. i would doubt it being any cleaner. makes changing the sprocket a pain in the butt. getting the chain on the sprocket can be a pain also..

My Mac 655 clutch is external. I find it easier to give the chain a "30 second tickle" with a file when I re-fuel rather than change a chain.

Heres my only current saw with an inboard clutch, I know its a cheap homelite, but it works for me.
