so i got covered this evening.....

tried the hand sanitizer and the fingernail polish remover. neither one did such a hot job... im out of goop here at the house aswell....

any other bright ideas??

Everyone at work thought I was an idiot when I told them to use margarine/butter to get pine pitch off their skin.

I had the last laugh there!

rub dirt on the offending sap and then wash it off. easiest way ive ever gotten sap off myself.

od, we must have different pine sap around here lol. that would only fill the sap with grit and infuriate it further lol.

some good posts guys. will have to try butter and mayo, their constructs are similar so they should perform closely. windex im gonna try too. there is a hand cleaner named Goop. white bucket, orange lid. works wonders on the stuff. as soon as i get it on me i take some goop to it and its a goner in seconds. just didnt have any last night lol.

also if youve ever loaded pine logs by hand, you know about those nice pretty rings they ad to your attire.... we loaded one about 3' wide 8' long off of the green dolly one day. took a few of us, and i was on the end. that sucker covered the whole dang front of my tshirt with rings lol. i left em there, that shirt was so cool lol. oh and to prevent this, just grab a handful of dirt or sawdust and cover the cut.

I use lacquer thinner. Takes it right off. Also works of poison ivy. It's extremely flammable and I think it's probably a carcinogen but it sure gets rid of pine sap.

Baby oil - I put it all over my hands and arms then jump in the shower and use regular soap.

Works like a charm.

A long sleeve T -shirt?

I sweat like a pig working. I'm usually in a t-shirt for climbing/dragging brush so long as the temps are above 10*F. :p

DITTO that.... long sleeves are out....

Try " SCRUBS ".. Towels pre soaked in a hand cleaner... They come in a little bucket,, you pull them out one at a time thru a cap on the lid . Get them at the auto parts store , lowes , hommy d's.......cheap... keep a bucket in the tool box.... They work pretty good... Plus the orange scent makes me feel pretty !!!! LOL

Pine Sap Remedies on ropes

Did a large pine job this week, and now have sap covered ropes and rigging, any way to get some of that off, or will it wear away and/or dry up?
