been awhile since i posted milling work. got a job cleaning up some trees for firewood, off and on for the past 2 months(worked a couple hours a week).had a big pine fall during a storm.the land owner said i could have it .told him i might mill it if it looked good.unfortuneatly him and his friend cut alot of it up before i could get to it. got 2 good pieces saved for milling, one was 6 ft by 19",second was 7 ft by 20". no action photos from the first log,ill get some on the second log. the bench is the end product.got 7 good slabs from the first log several some 8/4,some 6/4,couple 5/4's.ill post more of the bench in the carving section.

That is a nice looking bench!!!!

Nice job! - would you be willing to post the specs??????? That bench would look great outside the "machine shed"!!!

What kind of pines were these?

Good looking bench! Always cool to see someone actually 'making' something along with the milling.

Do you seal them with anything(poly/BLO)?

You keep them or sell em'?

this bench is a gift for the friend who land im cutting on(it was also his pine tree, lol). ive got 2 others in the works, hopefully i can sell something to justify my hobby to the boss,ie wife, lol.

these were finished with a water sealerx 3 coats. ive placeed it in full sun to see what the sap on the seat slab does.i my end up putting a coat of poly on the seat and back, just to be safe.
