My father has offered me his mint pioneer 450 (still has factory chain on, and factory spare in bag)
The condition is that if I can replace the worn out primer pump gaskets, I can have it for free. I am really hopeful that one of you pioneer guys will know where I can find one.

First step is to find an ipl and see what part number you need.

I e-bayed all of my Pioneer books years ago to guys here, so guys, anyone have an ipl????

I wish I could just get a picture up, but I am leaving for a little weekend vacation an about an hour, and dont have time to tear into a saw. This isnt a carb part, it is a little flat gasket that goes with the primer pump on the handle, it acts as a check valve to let gas flow to the carb. I wish I had an ipl for it, but I dont have much in the way of paper for these old saws. My only ipl is in the back of an old skil 1629 manual. If I found some very thin gasket stock, I might be able to make one up, but all of the sheet we have tried has been far too stiff to work right.

If it has a choke too, just bypass the bulb. I am guessing if I could see the booger, I could come up with something.

It is likely a carb company part.

Anyone here have one of these saws??????

I think pioneerguy600 (or was it pioneerguy660) has one (or more). I am kind of wishing he would chime in here. I think it is the same fuel system as the nu-17. (its an 89cc top handle)

Looks like a Pioneer partner 400/450 model, has just a generic primer, I'll get the Poulan/Walbro part number here in a minute.

Sorry, i have been away from wifi all day. I cant get anoher look at it until tomorrow night, but I will stay up and tear it down. I recall the issue not being the bulb, but a flat gasket under it that acted as a check valve. I really will have to tear into it to see for sure. (it has been about 4 years since it has been off he shelf, my dad jusy llt told me about he issue last night, and I havnt even looked at it yet.

well it is one unit.

The primer pump on a 450 is a multi component setup. There is a rubber cup shaped diaphragm that acts as the pump when pushed in, there is a flat rubber disc that acts as the check valve on the inlet side, it has a light coil spring that sets on a tapered cone that acts as the check valve on the exit side. All together there about 20 pieces that make up this primer pump if you count in the housings, gaskets and the actuator buttons and springs.

Yeah definitely not the partner/pioneer model.

I have regretted selling all of those old Parts books, last batch I got for nothing, they were going to dumpster the books and some parts.
