Please help identify this tree.

I have been trying to identify this tree for months. I saw it at Universal Studios Florida. I am not sure if it even a tree from the U.S. I would love to plant a few of them if I can find out what it is and if it will grow in my climate.

Sure looks like it. There are many along the coast close to where i am. Norfolk island is 1670kms ENE of Sydney off the east coast of Australia for those who care. We get many seeds washed up on beaches so have quite a few along our east coast.

Sure is, Norfolk is soft Bunya spikey as hell.

Araucaria what? It's not a Bunya, that's for sure. Araucaria bidwillii.

Looks like a Norfolk, Araucaria heterophylla from the original pics and probably is but could be a Cook Island, Araucaria columnaris.

No worries, Jeff's tree ID's always gets me going.

It's a bit hard to tell a Norfolk from a Cook just by pictures like that, pretty easy if you can see them. http://tree-species.blogspot.com.au/2007/12/norfolk-island-pine-vs-cook-pine.html
