Hello I have four of these trees, here in San Antonio, TX I only have seen very few of them. I only scanned a pic of the leaf it is an exotic looking tree and the leaves are very large, tomorrow I will take I pic of the whole tree, for now I will post the leaf. Please help.

Does it have green smooth bark? A little bit of spidery webish white stuff on it? Have you observed it all year long, can you describe flower, fruit? It is either a Chinese Parasol Tree, or a Tung Oil Tree.

Thank you very much, yes this is the tree. This is a very helpful and great site! I will be sure to come to this site again for any and all plant help.

I thought the name of that tree sounded familiar.

Especially since I just posted about the giant poison oak. When I researched for my page http://www.mdvaden.com/poison_oak.shtml

I came across the name of that varnish plant.

It's true that there are not a lot of them. If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it should contain the same compound as poison oak.

Check out this Wickipedia page...

Same tree?
