Was watching a timbersports comp. on tv the other evening and a relay consisted of stock saw and various choppin and crosscut sawing events. the stock saw, which while setting at the computer, to the side, and a few feet away, lookin through a plant, was not obvious the first time through, looking at it the second time through, they plunged the bar into the log, then cut up, down and back up. in otherwords, plunged the bar into the log and then cut two discs. the second time they showed this, i think you realy got a good look at the plunge cut, but of course i didn't pick it up until they were already into the log. anyway, the point being, these guys plunge cuts were about as quick as there cross cuts, at least to someone sitting as mentioned above. really impressive, even w/steal saws. must have been some really good chains.:)

whatever

since there doesn't seem to be anyone on here tonite i think i will just tol. that log looked like pine. jeez, we don't even talk about cutting pine down here. i've got some dead pines out back here. think i'll cut them and drag them up into the yard. set em up on saw horses and practice my plunge cutting. only, instead of a steal saw, it'll be with johnnie walker orange. trees here in fayette county shiver when i crack my 357. i think now i know what popeye was talking about when he said "shiver me timbers."

he must have had a 357 johnnie walker orange too. :D
