So tell me if I'm gettin the whole concept of the PNW and making my saw worthy of the PNW :hmm3grin2orange:

1) One saw is used for everything(felling, limbing, bucking)

2) One bar size: Extra long

3) You must have a full wrap

4) Big dawgs are a must

5) Anything smaller than a 440 is a worthless boat anchor

6) If it doesn't say Stihl it's crap

7) Only chain used is square ground skip

8) You are not considered a pro logger until you fell a tree that is 8 feet dbh

9) Your saw must weigh atleast 20 lbs

Did I leave anything out? Am I getting the gist of it? :hmm3grin2orange:

Looks good to me! You forgot the part about how everyone not in the PNW are using saws that are too small, too light, and with bars that are too short.

1.) Not always.
2.) Not extra long, but long, matched up well with the powerhead.
3.) If the ground is steep it's nice to have.
4.) For the thick bark it's nice.
5.) Not for me, but I do like the 440
6.) I like my Stihls, but I like the Dolmar also. The Dolmar isn't full wrap nor does it have big dawgs.
7.)24" bar and 32" bar full skip, 18" full comp. No square ground for me.
8.)I'm not a pro logger.........but they know what's up.

;)

Add another.

Not in the PNW, then you have to worry about your power head and bar being balanced.

PNW Style

The look, the classic look. If you are a cutter, you got to have the leather pad on your shoulder. And, longer bars add more leverage and balance when you are packing your saw on your shoulder. This is THE look for an all around type logger. This would be the summer look. I go lightweight with a 28" bar but I'm not a cutter.

#2Not one bar size standard bar 440-28" standard bar 460-32" short bar 660-32" long bars 36-48 extra long 48"+
3# technically the Stihls come with 3/4 wrap.
#5 200t is allowed to limb up in tree.
#9Without bar my 066 weighs less than 20 pounds. Am shopping for an 075 or 076 tho just in case.
For a foreigner your gettin the idea ok.
#6 theres another brand?
Aluminum hard hat stagged logger jeans suspenders and ripped off sleaves on a hickory shirt for all around style with Tee s allowed for variation. Heavy equipment or logging supply hat stored under wood pile for 6 month and stuffed in pocket for after helmet hair time. At least one 70+cc saw and 90cc saw hopefully a100cc saw. Its ok to limb wth less than 100cc saw if yor fellin the biggens but you prolly didnt drag one along.

And then there's the accessories. Ford 4X4 crew truck, diesel. (crummy).
White is the most popular color but it doesn't stay white for long. Must contain welding equipment, fuel tank, haywire, tools, fire tools, hydraulic fluid, saws, crew stuff, etc.

I'm not riding in no pickup bed if there's either room in the cab
or someone in there that I'm man enough to kick out.
