My new MS441 had its plastics painted, inside and out, by some PO. Paint type is unknown... Looks like semi-gloss, no brush marks.

Anyone have experience removing a paint job from Stihl plastics?

Are you sure its paint and not dye?
No. I will check.
I got an old plastic measuring spoon, broke a piece off the end to give a sharp edge, and slowly scraped off paint, worked well, but took ages.
Previous owner had painted all his stuff purple as he had a heap of stuff stolen in his shed, so made sure what was in it was easily identifyable.
Copy. Hope to avoid "takes ages."

Just a comment here not a proposed solution but I have removed some paints by spray painting with canned stuff then wiping off before it gets tacky.
Maybe the solvent in the spray attacked the dried pain. Don't remember anything about the pant involved just a thing that has happened a couple of times.
