Had a nest of yellow jackets move in right above the sunporch door last week. Got out the shopvac, put the crevice nozzle on and tape it to the pole saw and extended it up near their entrance. Switched on the shopvac for an hour and walked away. Sucked those pests right up. They would fly in and try to sting the nozzle and get sucked up. Put about a quart of water in the vac and 1/2 cup of veggie oil. Got a couple of pounds of em and the polesaw survived, yellow jackets didn't.
 
Sounds like one hell of a neat trick - I'll have to remember that!
 
That is pretty wild! Good vac too....

It seems i use mine more for swatting deadwood and spinning spanish moss like cotton candy and pulling gently to remove from remote places; rather than cutting.

The javelin catching ground pilot is just a rumor:eek:
