Mike! You're killing me! I was looking at this saw to add to my collection, I'm left handed, it's left handed. I thought it would be overlooked by many on e-bay. Now you just went and told the whole blessed world about it........THANKS!

turst me you do not wnat one of thse saws. even if you are left handed. cause where do you hold the saw when you are thinking about where to cut next. right next to you with the left side towards you. and where is the chain on that saw on the left side. i have 2 of those old bastards. fisrt time i cute with one of those i almost cut my self. and they like to back fire hard and pull the cord right out of your hand. portercables were made in syracuse, NY and there first models had a float carb that was positioned at an angle so that you could cut with it on it's side with out it runnign out of gas. they are a gutsy saw but i just do not like the position of the bar cause it jsut has a plate clamping the bar down no guards or nothing. if you buy it. use it at your own risk!!!

I didn't plan to actually use it. I have more saws than I "need" right now. This thing appealed to me because of its weirdness, no other reason.

Now you just went and told the whole blessed world about it........THANKS!

Sorry guy, maybe the whole blessed world will overlook it.

have you seen a left handed guy run a right handed saw?
scarey.
there is a small market for a modern left handed saw.

later scott

Seriously, I'm into left handed things. I have a left handed cork-screw that really messes people up. Makita makes a left handed circular saw that I'm trying to get my dealer to order for me. There are left handed clocks (a gimick that runs counter clock-wise), left handed can openers, and most intrigueing.......left handed surgical instruments!

specs on portercable saws.

of course this is for the 53x series. all of the models used the same engine just different handels and either a float or diaphram carb.

I didn't get the saw. I got a call that my mother was on the way to the hospital, so I didn't stick around to wait for an auction to end, family is more important! Mom has pneumonia and is getting good care. She'll be in the hospital until wednesday or so.
