I pulled out the old saw today to shorten up a few pieces of cherry that my son and I were splitting. After the first few cuts it started bogging down under load. Pulled the filter cover and checked, It was clean, same with the fuel filter. It ran pretty good with the choke half closed but choke off still bogging. Then I noticed the chain was looking real dry so I pulled the side cover and noticed oil everywhere except on the chain. Cleaned it all up and the oil is coming out of a small hole in the case and none coming out through the channel that feeds the bar. Looks like the case will have to be taken apart before I can inspect it any farther. Getting to the point now, is this saw worth the trouble to try and fix or is it disposable. Looks like the case will have to be split to fix the manual oiler, And im guessing that the carb will have to be re-built. It was a freebie and I dont want to sink money and time into something that will not be worth it in the long run. Any suggestions appreciated.
