O.k, first post and i have a question.
I am in possesion of a poulan saw, that requires a piston( original is shattered), and i can not find a model number anywhere in it:confused:

What i have found is a tag that reads as follows

1999 US EPA

Family xpwes. 0464cs:EM

disp 46cc 10:51

serial# 99298N100636-1

On the recoil housing it says Poulan Super Clean, and nothing else

Any help with this is much appreciated, as it is torn apart and cluttering up my workbench:censored:

If 1999 was the year it was built, the guys here might tell you its a bucket saw, once something breaks, throw it in the bucket. The older poulans were great saws. Made out of magnesium, 2 ring pistons, chromemoly cylinders, needle bearing and such. The new ones from hardware stores, big box stores are junk like the new homelites. Is the case metal?

Is it yellow? First saw to come to mind is the Poulan Pro 295 or something like that. It is a decent saw for its intended purposes.

Is this it?

Kinda what i was guessing, using acres site, i have narrowed it down to either the pp295 or 2750, problem is the pistons are listed as a different parts number, even though theu share a common displacement:censored:.

I am leaning more toward the 2750, due to the fact nowhere on it does it say Poulan Pro.

Guess this is what i get for helping a neighbor lol:monkey:

Well i think i got it. The photo PlantBiologist posted has jarred my memory, the front hand guard on the pp295 is straight, and fairly rigid looking, this one is curved, and flimsy i went back on acres site, and sure enough, it looks exactly like the front guard on the 2750.
Thanks guys for the help. My neighbor stopped by and said ," if you want the saw, keep it, i bought another", so i guess i'll try to fix it as cheap as possible, and run the snot out of it.:chainsaw:

The pistons are probably different part #'s because I think the 2750 use's the chrome plated piston for the aluminum bore while the 295 used a chrome bore with the regular aluminum piston.

I have a saw with similar markings:
1999 US EPA
xpwes. 0464cd:EM 46cc 06:17
sn 99006n100099-1.

On the other side it says:
2900 2.8 C.I.
FARMHAND [tm]

a sticker on the chain saw says to use part numbers:
952-044326 (guide bar)
952-051310 (saw chain)
