Does anybody know if a person can use a poulan chainsaw piston and rings in a pioneer P26? Just curious because it is " so hard to find any parts for pioneer, i've been all over the web. Hopefully a post that bassman left on this site will pan-out!! Thanks.

Well, here's what i know. Pioneer P26, engine displacement is 3.14cu. in. ( 51.4cc ), Cylinder bore, 1.625in. ( 41mm ), Piston stroke 1.500in. ( 38mm ) I'm not sure if Poulan has any comparison's.

Well, the wrist pin must be in the same place on the piston, otherwise, even if it has the same stroke, the piston could go clunk right into the cylinder at the peak of its stroke. nobody likes it when a piston does that, its generally not a good thing.

Pioneer/Poulan rings, piston.

Thanks for the info guys. I actually got lucky and bought an old P26 on e-bay the saw was in rough shape but hte rings were good so i took them off ( Carefully!! ) and put them on mine then split the case completely rebuilt the saw, runs great now and no leaks "yet".
