My father bought a new saw and gave me his old Poulan Pro. I don't know the model # but it's like a 42cc and about 4 years old (yellow plastic). The saw cranks and runs fine until you try and cut with it then it just bogs down. I have another saw like it that I burned up and have been using it as a parts saw to try and fix the newer one.
I've put the carb off the old on to it and adjusted it and still the same thing.
The screen on the muffler was stopped up so I replaced that and still the same thing.
Compression is like 130psi.
Checked fuel lines and all seem fine.
I know the saw is really not worth fooling with but I just feel like it's something simple that I'm overlooking and the fact that my father give it to me, I have committed myself to fixing it. Plus I could always use it as a back-up or around the house.
Could the coil cause this? Any ideas?
