:) Hey fellas just picked up a Stihl 076 Super with a 42" bar and was wondering if there is anything I can do to mod this saw for more power. I know it is a stump saw but was wondering if opening up the exhaust would gain anything like it does to the 66 or the 372. The sprocket and bar have been changed over to 3/8 pitch and 63 guage. Thanks.

opening the exhaust might help, only if the hole is too small to begin with. I don't have a 076 but if I did, the total exhaust outlet area would be a little less than the size of the cylinder port opening. Your older saw's muffler may be acceptable compared to the tiny exhaust openings in current model saws. Good luck and let us know what you find. John

I dont think any real mods are necessary on such a saw, its a pre EPA choked machine, thus the exhaust should be as restricted as the wind.

If you want more power yet, then its time to buy an 090 and get milling.
Just my $.02
