I am in the market for a new 20" bar for a Husqvarna 61. I found Power-tech bars being sold on Jack's Small Engines, but have never heard of them. Anyone used these bars before, and how do they compare to OEM stuff?

GB Power-Tech has a bad reputation here, but I have never used one (was scared off).

The costlier GB stuff has a good rep, but is heavier than many comparable bars, like Stihl ES and Oregon Power-Match etc....

I've got one on my Husky 50, I have'nt read what other people have to say about them but I'm getting good service from the one I have...........

I got a 16" power tech on my 372xpg, works fine for me :)

I'm also going to try a 16" bar on the 372, just for the heck of it, but it is a Norway made Jred bar, lighter than the Oregon made ones:cheers:  ......

The chain will be Oregon LGX and LP.

yes the are lighter :)
I wanted to try the the power tech cause I got it cheaper then a pro-lite bar, so far no problems !!

The lightest, (and probably best) bars are the Stihl Rollomatic E (not ES), but the cost about 2 1/2 times the competition here...

I may end up ordering one, as I cant find one locally that fits my saw for under $45. Other than the weight issue, what's the biggest negative to the GB Powertech bars?

I've got a couple 18" GB Power Tech bars from ebay. $25 each with chain (also GB brand). I haven't run them long enough to know how well it will last, but for the price, I'm pretty happy so far. Mine are for an old Stihl 031, so I don't know if the Husky versions are a similar price.

Forgot to say, I don't think there is much of a weight issue, because they have 10 pin noses, and are pretty slim......
