Hi Guys,

I'm buying my first chipper and I could really use some professional adice.

Specs:
2001 Bandit Chipper Model 250, 110hp Cummings, diesel, lift cylinder w/ auto feed, winch
3800 hrs
Appears well maintained in good condition, original bearings, new anvil, w/ no leaks underneath, a few touch ups on the paint, southern machine.
$16,000

What should I look for and is this a square deal?

sold

I'd get the engine checked out. Most of the rest of the parts aren't that expensive to repair or replace.

Thanks for the advise, Del. I agree checking the engine by a qualified mechanic would have been ideal. Unfortunately I had to make a decision sooner than later so we settled on $15,750.

A machine witht that many hours around these parts would have sold for around 10-12. Is it carb compliant? I lknow that makes a big diff in price. And everything on a bandit is expensive to replace btw. I rebuilt an entire 97 150 over the last 3 years LOL.

with those kind of hours thats a 9000 dollar chipper. you can find similar chippers out there with 1000 hours for 15,000

What are decent el's going for at auction say on a 97-00 forestry or non forestry chassis?
