Got a question for you guys. What do you consider a fair price for climbing, limbing, and topping 5 white pines in someone's back yard so there will be enough room for felling them afterwards?

Thanks for thr info.

Bidding on a tree sight unseen is something that cannot be done, IMO. Too many factors exist that that must be addressed. About the only way to do it would be to way - overestimate the job in order to CYA.

Kinda like a blind date, only in this case you don't want to get screwed.;)

I don't get pissed, I assume the individual just doesn't understand the nature of the beast.

You can figure at LEAST $100 per hr per Climber.

Or, more.

Hey Chris,

I know you can just have me do it :D No need for climbing just dump em'..Just kidding.. tell me more about it on Friday and I'll give you somewhere to start anyway..It's gonna be a busy day so I hope your ready.

Rob.

I'd charge about $50 to drop a pole like they want you to create, so I'd take $50 off of the removal price for that tree.

Amen to that.

On a serious note, you seem to have problems with the fundamentals of estimating a job. Time, time, time, and opportunity costs.

Unfortunately X tree of Y size is not a commodity. You can take a $500 oak removal in TX, and that is a $1200 removal in another region. Same goes for pines.

Reguardless of if you make money or lose yer ash on the job, stay safe, don't cut corners and fight another day. If you miss the bid, that is ok as long as you learn.
