My new to me chipper is a Bandit with a 3.9 liter cummins diesel in it. We disconnected the fuel tank for painting and can no longer get it to run. It'll fire up if we spray starter fluid into the air filter but it dies quickly after that. We've already removed the fuel filters to ensure that they are full of diesel and aren't sure what the next step should be. Any help?

Is there any air bleeding screws near or around the fuel filter housing? Or a schrader valve in the fuel rail, if so you'll have to crank the motor and then hit the schreader to release the air, repeat process. If not you'll probably have to crack the fuel line to release teh air.:)

As it turns out....

You have to hook the in feed and overflow hoses up to the correct nozzles on the engine. Having them bass-ackwards won' work at all! Who knew? She's purrin' like a kitten now.
