just got it and i need a recoil starter
and the internals of the blade brake wood be nice but i don't really need them.

any one have a good source for parts?

Good grief,they've beat it to a pulp .I have one,myself.In spite of all the negative comments,they aren't a bad saw.Now the bad news,the parts will cost more than the saw is worth.A suggestion,watch e-bay.Every so often,one comes up,cheap.I got one,with a bad coil,for $27.plus shipping .At first production,they sold for around$250.,but later,Walmart,sold them for $169.95,with a 16" bar.

It alive!

i cleaned up and started this saw today it runs once the carb is primed
( wish it had primer button) the sprocket tip on the bar was worn out but i have a new Oregon 20" of my 4900 the manual oil pump seams to work don't know about auto yet

Oregon Native, send me your mailing address & I'll send you the parts---No Charge..I've got tons of 610 stuff in my garage.Glad to see another mac saw come alive.....Bill Irvine

Yes, I was hoping to collect enough parts to put a working unit together myself, I have a complete unit less battery pack, bar, chain & some other smaller parts. I think I paid about $50 for all of it on Ebay, but I'm not sure--any parts to trade for it?...BILL

i need a battery pack and brushs and the brush holders...i have a factory manual and parts list for one ...i gave 60 buc's for mine and it runs like a top!

Chainsaw57 ( a member here but not active lately) has a source for getting the batteries re-built. But you have to have a core.
