Hello Folks. although new to this forum I have over the years managed to find myelf in possession of a number of saws all of which are now considered obsolete. I have a Titan 40; IEL (model unknown);Pioneer P41s and a MCCulloch Pro Mac 85 super. All where in good running condition until recently when I seized the piston on the Mac 85 whilst assaulting the butt end of a huge maple(figuratively speaking). Probably I should put it to bed and purchase an equivalent Stihl or Husky but it seems a shame not to continue using a saw which is lighter and more powerful than all the modern saws I have used to date.Chasing down a new piston ring assembly (and minor other parts has been an exercise in frustration, can any of you folks help or provide suggestions. I would prefer a Canadian source as I live on Vancouver Island ( British Columbia)however will gratefully take whatever is available. Any estimations of what i should expect to pay for these parts? thanks......Oh by the way I am curious that I dont hear much mention of the Pioneer saws on this Forum . They are in my opinion an excellent saw. I have had my P41 since new(1976)and cut countless cords of wood not to mention 3 spacing contracts and have only ever replaced recoil springs and cords( and a host of chains and bars(24 inch). Any comments?

McCulloch Parts:

Hello sawsall and welcome to the forum. I collect saws to tinker with and restore, but haven't gotten into McCulloch too much. I'm sure there are fellows here that can help. The old Pioneers were, from what I've heard a prety good saw in its day, but haven't gotten to them either. A canadian friend of mind has collected a few, but haven't seen too many on this side of the border, in my area as yet. You take care. Happy Holidays. Lewis.
