hey everyone new to the site. i have a pro mac 1000 and for some reason it wont run once its hot i cleaned the carb and checked all of the lines. any ideas why it wont run right?

If it runs fine, but won't start when it is hot, you probably have the incorrect spark plug, otherwise, yes, a coil is a likely suspect too.

Welcome!

incorrect plug? if it fits in the hole fine, and doesn't hit anything, it will work weather it's hot or cold. this is a mcculloch. you can thread in a spoon and it would still run:laugh:

haha yeah that is true i have used other plugs in this thing and they have worked fine. i was thinking that the coil was the likely problem. now the real question is where to i find a coil for a 1970's mcculloch saw haha. the other thing i was thinking was the carb may be shot as well.

thank you for all the input
