I have a problem tightening the chain on my 066. I keep a 36" bar on there. My problem is that I can never get the chain tight because the screw will either stop, or my T wrench will pop out of the screw head. Any tips?

Pull the bar off without touching the adjuster and see if the adjuster is at the end of its travel. Then your chain is either one link too long or is due for replacement as it has stretched quite a bit.

i might think the screw is bent in it's spiraling travel coming closer to binding at certain spots, whether binding on the clearances of it's mounting, or the bar adjsuter it hosts. On the side adjusters that plate that holds the bar adjuster stud, can get a ledge to catch on when pressed into it by bar, does it perfectly function smoothly when cleaned running it back and forth a few times with no bar, side cover?

One screw on the side adjuster, after taking spring plate off gets you into inspect this bolt and 90 degree turn facilitated by 2 'worm gears'(?), they can get a broken 'spline' on either or imperfections on both, one bad spot transfering over to mating gear.

Good luck!;)
