Okay more problems here. Mine must be the newest desgn. As the machine is assembled one cannot get access to the limiter caps. There is a molded black rubber "boot" that covers all adj. screws and connects the carb diaghram to a fitting on the air cleaner. The only way I can see to get the "boot" off to remove the cap is to remove the 2 screws holding the carb to the block, lift up the carb to clear the upper case, and remove the cap. Put everything back together, adjust, and remove the carb again to replace the cap.
I know this sounds crazy but I have looked at it several times and can see no part around the carb that can be removed to allow the boot assembly to slide off the adj. screws.
HEEEEEEEEEEEElp!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks

I just did mine recently. You've got to pull those two 8mm nuts holding your carb on to remove the plate and expose your carb fully. I was then able to easily get pliers and a screwdriver in there and ease the HS cap off. Mine doesn't have a L cap. It's 6 am here, and if you like I can take pictures of mine in a few hours when I get up again. But for now, I'm off to bed.

If you don't mind the trouble I would appreciate the pictures. They sure put everything in a small space didn't they.
THanks in advance

I have 2005 and 2004 models, the black wraparound cover just slides straight off. No tools unless you need a pair of needlenose to grab hold of it.

Thanks for the reply. This isn't just a cover. This actually encloses the adjustments. The wraparound cover is now part of what the carb bolts to on the bottom of the carb. I tried to approach it from that angle also. This is a bit of a strange design, I suppose to save weight.
Will check it our again tonight. I have never been called a mechanical genius so I could be dead wrong about this. But I appreciate everyone's patience and knowledge!

Ooops, I see that you're talking about a 200, and not a 200T. I don't know how similar they are as far as carb access and how this will work, but here's my 200T-

THanks for the pix. These pix show me what I will see when I get the boot off. On mine they have changed some plumbing but l see how now I might slip the limiter up without removing stuff. THanks very much! The second picture shows the detail I need.
Thanks again

Greg,
Instead of removing the plate under the air filter, leave it alone and instead remove the side access cover. Remove the one tiny little screw holding the metal piece (it's actually the warm air deflector for cold weather use) and then pop the rubber access cover off. Reach in and pop off the outer wrap piece around the limiter caps and them pull off the caps themselves. It's about a 60 second operation and will take you less time than it's taken to read this post.

Removing the nuts holding the carb in place can lead to problems if you loosen the carb and allow dirt and crud to fall in between the carb and intake. I suggest you do not go that route unless you thoroughly clean around the carb with compressed air before removing the mounting nuts and then again before reassembly.

Okay skwerl, I am fired up and will take care of this tonight.
Thanks
Greg
