Hello-
Glad to be aboard your forum. I have a Promark grinder model 16sp that I have had for 20 years. I have modified it greatly like installing a 28 hp Kohler fuel injected engine last fall. Today, the cutter wheel shaft snapped in half. This is the shaft that the pillow block bearings mount on. These machines have not been made for a number of years. Before I have one made, which could be quite costly, I thought I would see if anyone knows where to obtain one or two either new or a good condition used one. Any ideas?? Thanks

I will get back to you Monday.
No promises, but the same thing happened to our@20 year old Promark.
Our mechanic found a replacment.

Or you might consider using an entirely different cutting head which will allow you to change the pockets and teeth and really get some use out of those extra ponies the Kohler has.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I use conventional pockets and teeth now. What setup are you referring to. Thanks

What I meant was, if parts like a shaft to mount an older cutting wheel are hard to find why not buy an entire cutting head assembly from a more current model. I was not aware of your tooth set up so threw that in for good luck.

This is a good thought if something was available. These machines have not been made in years but I will check out other machines that are somewhat similar in design like the Dosko. Thanks for the suggestion!!
