Pruning season, I've got a Northern Red Oak here (I think) with a jutting lower limb - I'd like to remove it mostly for aesthetic reasons. Tree trunk is about 32in, the branch I'm thinking about is about 7x5 near the base before the collar. Red Oaks good healers? Is this cut a size that this tree will heal well over time, all else being equal?
