My mother-in-law just moved to the city from her farm and I was given her old Homelite chainsaws. I was using the Homelite XL2 the other day and the pull cord handle came off. I retied the handle back on, but the cord doesn't fully go back in. How do I get the cord to fully recoil? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks,

Brad Uebelhor

You have to remove the starter side cover from the saw, then you'll be able to feed some rope to make a loop inside the cover, there should be a notch in the pulley to allow you to wind the spring back up. If you were here I could show you in a minute or two, very hard to put into words.
