Looks pretty cool, good vid. However, we tend to over complicate things for very little gains. To me, and just my opinion, that is too much stuff to have in a tree. In a nice perfect crotch like that one, I am sure it works fine, put that in a tree that is very thick and grabby like a ash or locust or one that has tight crotches and all that stuff is going to get snagged on stuff and you will end up going back up after it. I have climbed off of my rescue pulley and then, right away, on my caterpillar friction saver, not hardly any dif in friction. With all these new gadgets coming out all the time, seems to me, by the time you get all that stuff set up and in the tree, I will be coming down to chip.

Yes it would be a nightmare in a locust. I was thinking cottonwoods mainly. The idea that it would eliminate slack tending and only requires an extra carabiner to set up is nice . I'm sure it wouldn't be practical for every tree. Either way I'll have to wait to try it with the $200 price tag. Thinking of getting a leather cambium saver for now, how does it compare to pulley or rings friction-wise? tired of rings getting hung up in crotches.

They work, sorta. Problem with the leather is it softens up, then it will sit down tight into a crotch and collapse, adding friction. I use those caterpillars and I love them. If not them, then go with the rings. I don't like the bend ration with the rings, but they don't collapse into a crotch like the leather.
