Was in the woods today with my dad, brother and friend cutting down trees for firewood. Some of the trees were leaning over the neighbors fence line so we got the call to take them down. We were dropping/bucking the trees and our friend was packing them out with his forwarder. I got a few pics of us pulling a ridiculous red oak leaner with some serious rot.

Here is the tree. Notice the fence and rot, not much to work with.

Back cut is complete and we are clear to pull.

Operater doesn't pull fast enough and hinge breaks 1/2 way through the pull.

There she sits. Put a chain on the butt and pull it down.

Forwarder packing out logs. The end.

Didn't top it because we had dedlines and like to push the limits. Also, most of the top was over the neighbors line. Its fun to see what you can get away with in the woods, instead of somebody's back yard. Would have had it too, if the operater would have pulled steady. He was inexperienced and my dad didn't clearly communicate what would be neaded to make this happen.
