Thes photos were taken around november 1977.We have them in slides and i got them copied off a slide projection screen.I have a fair few more, but you will just have to bear with me,for some reason my computer doesnt want to load them but i have some help across the tasman.

That old mack can handle it....but most guys here have new trucks and don't even like to take them off the road much..... I also doubt the mills would pay very well for those logs after the bark is tore up and the logs are run through the dirt..... Very cool pic.

Tom; you're just making us salivate with one pic at a time like this! Now your computer is up and running again you can post pics here that are under 300kb in size. You may need to resize your originals. I just downloaded this:http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=106286 to make it easier - just right click on the image you want to resize (once you have installed the program of course) and choose a size. A new image will appear in the same folder as the original image with the addition of "(small)" in the title. You can right click the new image, then left click properties to find out its size: upload. :)

I am sure everyone wants more pics of this sort, keep them coming!

This is what happens when you go within range of a tree sitting back that wont fall.At 6pm the previous evening i was warned not to go near two trees as one sat back,so the faller aimed another tree at the first one and it sat back too.At 11am the next day i thought i would go and push them over.I had two choices, either side cut around the back of the hill to get behind them,or quickly go in under the trees and race around behind them. There was not a breath of wind ,and as i got to within about 80 ft of the trees i looked through the scrub and could see one scarf closing up,quickly followed by the other.Next things got dark. One tree landed longways on the right trackframe, smashing the two top roller pillars and driving the blade down into the soft soil, and the other tree glanced off the left hand corner of the canopy. Some people have said maybe the vibration from the tractor made them fall. The result,$ 400 for two used pillars and only injured pride.
