Most of these were from a tree I milled last year. They were getting in the way and I needed to get them milled up.

I've been getting the concrete in for the locust post that will hold this beam up so I can change my roof line a little. It only took a few hours in the rain/snow to cut these out and fit them.

Here some of the off cuts I got from the logs. There was still a bunch that I didn't stand up.

Excellent joinery if I may say so myself.

Thank's. I started this project about five maybe six years ago and the template got broken. Needless to say I made a mistake or two before I got the template right. The night before I posted the pics, I ended up walking away after ruining a foot or so of walnut.

I have regretfully jammed stuff into the wood burner with a few choice words but smiled later knowing I at least got some btu's out of it.

I've been there before. I've been known to hold on to a mistake for a year or two to remind myself of what I did. I try to make it a rule if I make three mistakes that I can't fix, I Call it a day. Well I wish I had about ten of your lanterns so I could keep going. I had someone stop by and they stayed till dark then left. Another not very productive day. Oh well there's always tomorrow.

Check your local thrift shops and such for Coleman lanterns. Up where you are they should be all over the place, Stay away from any AGM lanterns for they can leak from the tank/fount and cause a fire.

I've been looking but haven't seen any. I probably should put up some lights so I can work a little longer. I have to post some pics of this bench grinder I found. It's a 10inch Cincinnati. It sounds like a turbo when it gets up to speed. It's a good old American tool. I wish they still made them like this one. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

You can't go wrong with that Cinncinnati. Damn good grinder. I have a Rockwell/Delta 8" pedestall made in 57. Check the Finger Lakes CL for Coleman. No burned out bulbs, extension cords, power supply. Just good old fashioned light.

I didn't know anything about the cincinnati except it looked like it would be around longer then I will. I need to build a stand for it. I'm thinking the rim type stand so I can roll it out of the shop for heavy grinding.

I'll have to ask around about lamps because I'm sure someone I know has one or two they'd part with. I probably wire up some lights in the meantime.
