I have tore into an Echo 3000 Carborator to see what might be causing my saw to have no power or RPM's--I was up a big Oak 2 weeks ago thinning it, and it would almost die in the cut--had to finish the cut by pressing the bubble to give it more gas. I had fresh gas--turned the High Speed in and out to the max allowed on the "stops" both ways and it made no difference in power. The low speed was okay, for the saw ran, but did not "race". So I took apart the carb, and all looked okay--no cracks or holes in anything. I ran a thin wire through all the ports. The only thing I can't remember has to do with the diaphragm. When I push on the center piece of aluminum, the rubber depresses, but does NOT return--isn't that supposed to come back?
Could that be causing my problems on the power? I have ordered a new carb kit, and gasket going behind it, so waiting on it--but just wondering. If this is not it, what else? I've blown air (with mouth) thru the fuel line, and also the fuel filter, and air goes through it, so that isn't it. Has to be this diaphragm right? I could take out the "stops" but this saw ran fine two months ago when I used it, so I don't think it is that. And yes, I've put in fresh gas since then.
