hey guys I have been looking into buying a new block and loopie(old one is damaged) and came across this. most of the limbs I have to lower down aren't that heavy(100-300lbs max) , once in a blue moon heavier. The WLL is 2200lbs , where as the large cmi block with the 5/8 loopie is 3000lbs WLL. both cmi block and this dmm block hold 5/8". I really like the size and versatility of the rig above but want to be safe. I work in florida so we don't have the ginormous trees that you guys have up north but I do have to negative block every now and then. Any "experienced" help with this rig would be greatly appreciated

With negative blocking I would think that the pinto pulley would swing down causing the rope to run against the spar.
ISC has a new, small block. I just purchased one at Tree Expo. Nice and small, light and has a WWL close to 4,000 lbs.
It's about 5" long

The pinto is not really meant to be a major load carrier for rigging systems. It's really meant to be used as a secondary rigging point either before or after your rigging block.
Ie used to divert the rope and load away from you or away from an obstacle beneath you.

I've used that pinto rig and it's sweet and easy to use as well as very light and still takes up to 3/4" rope too from memory. It's not a heavy pulley though. I use a few of the SRT large pulleys rated to 9T plus one of those dmm impact rigging blocks which are sexy and kinda pricey. My block has always had trouble getting the pin unscrewed after even minor loading which is a shame cause it's a nice block to use.

I'm sticking with what I posted in 101. I don't like the idea of the loopie running through those narrow cheek plates. It's meant to have a biner or some other piece of hardware through them. That bushing looking thing is just a spacer. The load is on the plates and digging into the loopie
