I feel silly asking this question, but have no idea what else to do. I have an RG20HD stumpgrinder I want to sell and am having no luck at all with finding a new home for it. It is in excellent shape and runs well, I converted it to greenteeth and it takes small stumps very well.

Perhaps I am asking too much for it at $2,800? I have posted it on my local CraigsList (Minneapolis) and only got a few tire kickers that really do not know what it is.

Would one be better off taking it to an equipment dealer or perhaps an auction? I really suck at selling stuff. Any ideas?

You might be asking too much. The demand for a handle bar grinder is pretty low. What people are likely thinking is $2800 for a handlebar or $4500 for a 252 or something like that. It's also not the best time to sell a grinder in MN. Auctions will get it sold sometimes for more than it's worth sometimes for too cheap it's a bit of a gamble but it will be sold and gone.

I recommend eBay. Shoot plenty of pictures, edit them, post with a good accurate sales narrative. Check your spelling carefully. Price it to start at $.99 plus a reserve for the minimum you'll accept. Watch your auction progress. If a bidder does not have feedback better than 98% you ought to be cautious.

It takes time to sell something my friend. Craig's List should work just fine for what you have. There is a good market for these units if you have it price right, which you do I think, it should take a few month or even longer. If you post something and its sell right away its usually because you are priced way to low. If you still have it after a year then its probably priced high. I get $3000 to $3500 for RG20HD's if they are in good condition. Auction will likely bring you $1500 or so but then you have to pay the fees as well. Ebay is a waste of time for me but you might as well try it just don't expect too much. Winter time is the worst time to sell anything.
