Well I borrowed a tractor from my bil, he said when he bought it (recently) that the bucket was complete junk so he gave it away..:(
Anyway, I didn't have time or energy to build a bucket but I did have a thought (I know) and a piece of I beam from a house trailer tongue. My bil had some channel that had some angle iron welded on and they looked like perfect candidates for some short forks..
On to the pics, I think this will work as planned, push the logs up onto a pile, maybe I can balance a log and cut it up on the forks. I didn't measure them but I think they are around 20"

Looks good, good use of existing materials! I am interested in hearing how they work out. I use an attachment with 2 bale spears to move logs and they work great. They are skinny and strong enough to pick logs off a pile or wagon and don't take a big divot when picking a log off the ground. Good for moving brush too,

Thanks, I was hoping to have them tested by now but this darn cold is keeping me indoors. I am going to take the tractor to the wood lot tomorrow or Monday, I haven't decided yet if I want to go Jeepin' tomorrow or do wood tomorrow?

I suggest making some vertical stops that come up from your I beam. Something that would help prevent a log from rolling back toward the operator. Just my two cents. Otherwise looks great. Should be very handy.

Ryan, thanks for the words of wisdom. I don't plan on lifting only high enough to pile a few. If I decide to lift any higher I will add some backstops. Mostly to push them out of the road and get them piled up to cut, not more than a few logs at a time.

That's a great idea! Wish we had a tractor with a front loader like that. We have an H with a lift-all. Not sure it has the lifting capacity to move some of the logs we deal with. Plus the tricycle design with a lot of weight on the loader tends to sink the front tires.
