So yesterday, I dropped $842.10 to pay a fine that was not even me. I went to renew my registration, they had a stop on it. Said I had 3 unpaid tickets from 2005.
I told them It wasn't me, asked too see tickets. No dice.
Went through all the proper channels. Have, hardcore proof that is was not me. No dice. Went to courthouse to see a judge, No dice. Called the Capitol office in Des Moines. They literately laughed.
They had me cornered, nothing I was doing made a bit of difference. Only way I was gonna get my stickers is to pay a fine that in no way shape or form was mine!
I have my stickers though!
Total for the day at the DMV. $1205.10

Criminals actually legalized theft so to speak.

I suggest 2 things. Pull a credit report and see if there might be more :censored: going on. Second I would file an identity thieft report with the police, and get the detectives name and stick to him like glue. Burn that mother-:censored: who :censored: you out of your Hard earned $$$$.

Yeah, Im gonna have my lawyer look into it, see if he can get these tickets. Only problem is, it will cost me to pursue it, so is it worth it, that IS the Q

Not worried about ID theft, no one wants my credit!
My son had stage 3 Neuroblastoma Cancer. OVER 400,000 in medical bills, no worries, I buy a lotto ticket twice a week!

My father got a parking ticket from Philly on his truck 2 mounths after he sold it. He called and was told to pay the fine or prove it wasnt his truck.Called the guy that bought and out all his papers in order. Faxed a copy of all the paper work when he sold it. After a mounth he called and it was dismissed. He said he was billing them for the time it took out of his day to get paper work for there mistake, he was told you cant do that. He mailled them three bills and the third was sent as a regestered all of witch were dismissed. So he turned them in to the collection company that we use and are waiting to see what happens next.

Did you own the truck when the tickets were issued?

The ticket was issued two mounths after we sold the truck and the plate that was in my scrap pile. They only go by plate number so it was a typo.

Wouldn't recognize that you did not own the vehicle at that time? Seems like somebody should know that the title had been transferred...if only we could think of who might have that information....hmmmmm, maybe the DMV? Idiots!

Well, I believe I was screwed over by my oldest 1/2 brother!
Was telling my real bro the deal. Right away he said my other brother, remembered him getting pulled over at the same spot for the same tickets. Said he was sure he gave my info, probably didn't have his ID on him, knows all my info.
Jerk!

what did the tickets relate to? were they "out of service" tickets from DOT or moving violations from other agencies such as state troopers, sherriff's dept, city police????

I find it hard to believe you would have to pay for something that was not yours.

did you get your tickets in the previous years?

just not following how this could have come back on you???

you say you have hardcore proof the tickets are not yours, but you have not seen the tickets and do not know what they relate to....right??? What is your hardcore evidence???

not busting your balls...but asking some questions that seem to go unanswered.

happen to me for $100 moved from wil. NC to NH they had me for a parking ticket on nh reg.
only problem was i was and had been living in NC 900 miles away with my vec. reg in nc, tryed to fight it loseing battle

One thing I have learned over the years......when it comes to the various forms of goober-nuts, they may be mistaken, but they are NEVER wrong!

No prob, good q's
I have my DMV report, shows I have never had a invalid DL, My insurance company is the same since i was 16, never not covered, Dmv records also show that all my vehicles have always have had valid registration, all the people that i dealt with also agree, something wasnt right.
How this was put in my name at the court house is a mystery.
As far as my 1/2 brother, my cop friend said that if someone was pulled over, had the right info but no ID, As long as the tickets are not serious in nature, and they did not act suspicious, they would have written them and let him go on his way.Really, I don't know. All I do know, is that some how this was at the clerk of court, not anywhere else. I had a deep background check done on me in 07 when I was called back to USMC. these tickets are from 05, but didn't show up till 09?
Be honest with ya, I have no idea how it happened, all I know is that I had to pay it to get my registration and license back! and it sucks!
Your right, I have not seen the tickets, no one can produce them! would love to see them!

It is not uncommon for a family member to do things like this. I've heard of people getting put in the pokey because a brother/sister/uncle had given ID info and skipped out, leaving the unwitting kin with a warrant. I did collections for around a year after "getting out" of the suck. I'd call people on tickets with warrants pending and would bee told "My sistuh di that!"

Scott, do you have a local TV station that does helping spots? We have a Contact 6 program. Seems to me that a disabled vet with a kid in the hospital would make for a good human interest story.

Whats your kid's name? I'll trade prayers with you, my FIL's prostate cancer has metastasized and he has bone mets on his skull.

Thanks JPS, I got him covered, told my oldest boy about your FIL, he is literally on his way to Atlanta, to his pastoral college! My son will be the preacher man soon.
As for the yunwun, he is cured now, 2 years in the hospital, but he considered cured now, little side effects from the BMT. he is legally deaf and blind in 1 eye, but WHOOPS DA BOOTY at Judo tournaments!
