Does anyone know the linkbelt part number for the cutterwheel bearings on a rayco RG100? The tin tags are missing on mine and I'd like to get a spare set to have on the shelf for when they go out. Hoping to skip dealer and get directly from bearing supplier. Thanks

If Rayco is like Vermeer (which also uses Link-Belt bearings) there isn't any numbers on them... All bearings subscribe to a standard numbering system though.. I took an old bearing to my local supply house and they measured up everything and looked them up for me. Once they determined the standard numbers, series numbers and size/type needed , I had several mfrs to choose from....Saved a good bit of money ,got a comparable bearing ,and local service..
Just a Hint : It helps to carry a dozen hot doughnuts in for the counter people also..!!!

Hi Moe,

I hope you've been doing well.

You can't get the bearings that Carlton and Rayco use on stump grinders. If you look at the bearing housing, you'll see two set screws that hold the locking collar in. These are specially done for Rayco and Carlton by Rexnord/Linkbelt and not stocked by distributors.

If you let me know the shaft size, I'll get you a price.

Hope this helps!

I've picked up replacements for my 8018 from a bearing supplier that did have the locking set screws on the collars,(they matched them up for me). Saved about $100 for the set. I'll get some measurements for the RG100 next week when I pull it into the shop for a few things,(it's sitting in my machine shed and it's going to be cold this week). Thanks

I've replaced my bearings on an rg1672 from a bearing shop in town as well, with out having to go through the dealer or rayco.
