Ordered a Granberg Alaskan Mill from a local guy and it should be here any day and also ordered a load of wood, walnut, cherry, butter nut and what ever else he had. I have been reading the Milling 101 thread but would like to know what you guys use for painting the ends with and what other tips you might have, also I will be using my 372, so I would like to know what the biggest log it would handle.

The 'local guy' didn't have the milling attachment in stock? Hope he's giving you the same 'deal' you could have received by ordering it yourself.

It sounds strange to hear about folks 'ordering' a load of wood, there's plenty of free stuff out there. Unless these chunks are all highly figured burls or something?

You know we're gonna need first cut photo's and then plenty from there on out in the process.....right:msp_w00t:

Scott (hope you have fun) B

What size mill did you get?

Awesomeness! Did you get your mill up and running yet? I know I'm hype'd to see some timbers being milled by your new set-up!

Not yet, actually calling today to see if it came in yet, also still waiting on my logger.
