When researching saws, one of the first stats to look at is the saws weight. Well, knowing that manufacturers weigh them differently, I thought I would start a thread with real world numbers.

So, I filled the mix/oil to the brim, removed the bar covers and threw them on the bathroom scale. I have listed the bar and chain currently on the saw, plus any thing added/removed that would change the weight, like the DP cover for the 660, which seems quite a bit heavier than the stock cover. My saws have all been cleaned after their last use, so my numbers may be very close to a brand new never in wood saw. Not that a little sawdust makes a difference.

Here are my findings with the very few saws I have, all which are very popular. I believe many people looking for a new saw can check this thread out for the truth. So with that said, please feel free to contribute.

MS660 - 23lbs

25" Stihl ES
33RSC
DP Cover
Roller chain catcher
scrench holder and scrench on handlebar

MS361 - 17lbs
20" Stihl E
33RSC
Dual dawg kit with roller chain catcher

MS260 - 14lbs
16" Stihl E
26RSC
scrench holder and scrench on handlebar

BTW, these are all half wraps.

My Stihl 051 tipped the scales at 32lbs. ready to go with a 25" b/c.

031 was 18.5lbs. with a 16" b/c.

361 was also 17lbs. with an 18" b/c

My 026 is currently disassembled on the bench, but I'll take your word on the weight :)

I let SawTroll worry about weight. I don't mind carrying around another pound or two, I just want the dang thing to work when I want it to. A couple of pound of "junk in the trunk" never turned me away from a saw or a woman...in my younger days. Now, if the trunk got too big....different story.
