Any bets on him still having a full set of hands?

Oh boy, usually I think a lot of people over-react on safety stuff, but he is riding a very fine line. Keep you dang hands away from the ram and wedge!!

A couple mods would be to grind the "spikes" off on the ram, so the wood does not stick to it. Cut the chute off right at the wedge. Make the chute in a V-shape so the logs will self center and not have to hold them in place. Otherwise, it is a pretty efficient machine. Limited on the size of the wood, but I guess.

Ya safety first is not built into these. I would definitely make a self centering bed for it, trim the top lip off the sheet metal sides, use a hockey stick or something other than your hands to clear wood, and lastly work on the non fly wheel side....

i like it as it is! bit scary looking, sounding, operation... it's fast! but if he is faster ok then!! he seems to have it together... albeit a bit wilder than your average Harbor Freight 5-10 hp engine driven log splitter. don't really care for the swinging counterweights, but so long as he don't walk into it... them... inch is as good as a mile. quite a set up, imo. i liked how he lubed the beam. i always keep my beam well lubed... even the tuffer chunks and wedge at times, too. makes a tuff split into a walk in the park! ;)

and for sure, i would like it if my splitter cycled that fast, or even half that fast!!!! lol... great vid! :)

then i could call my splitter a 'half fast' log splitter... lol

Yeah, them counterweights are out there a ways. I guess you would need a dang big cover for that. But yeah, he is playing Russian Roulette with his digits. The thing that I would be most scared of is those chunks the get hung up and go any direction pinching and smashing anything in its way. Cool design tho...

One guy steady feeding rounds and 1-2 guys clearing wood and you could really pile it up fast in a day.

Wow, If that plunger arm ever breaks he may wish he had never seen that thing. I had one come loose and jam in the ground and it almost turned the baler over. ( I wish him luck )

Heck, if you had a conveyor or dump trailer. I guess you would still need 3 guys. One bringing rounds to splitter, 1 loader, 1 on conveyor.

Also, if he had a heavy duty access door for the top of the ram. That thing is getting closer to being a nice splitter

That thing is an accident waiting to happen. Would be great to split that fast but not worth life or limb to get it done. I'll take my slow sweet time with my 35 ton Speeco, enjoy the process and still get the wood split but just take a touch longer.

You know Ninnies. . .I am sure this guy will have all his limbs and digits long after you all have been rushed to the local ER several times for severe hang nails and back injuries resulting from cleaning up after your wifes poodle.

The flywheel spliter amazes me how it splits the entire log, the other side is they look like easily split pieces, species of tree, straight with no limbs.
