I picked up a pair of nice looking Redmax G450AVS chainsaws the other day. Did not even want them, but they came with the other stuff. One had a bad coil, so I swapped it with the other. Now it's a great running machine. Smooth and powerful. Quick throttle response too. Piston's are nice on both of them. They perform a lot like the Husqvarna 55, and resemble them a little bit... especially the top handle.

I figured they were cheap plastic junk at first. Then I looked into them, and I believe they are made by Zenoah, the Japanese company that makes racing motor's for RC applications, as well as line trimmer's.

They have a metal crankcase, metal top handle, and a re-cleanable air filter. I think I'll hang on to these... one to cut with, and the other for a parts saw.

I'll try to post some pic's later.

Anyone else have experience with these?

Some photo's.

Ran it for over a half hour today, and did the final tune on the carb. Nice powerful little runner. Very responsive and crisp throttle. Surprised me how nice it is.

Problem is that I have so many "back-up" saws, and so-called "beater" saws that I'll never use them all in 10 life times.

I think I'll just sell these two saws.
